Near The East Coast, A Fireball Was Seen In The Sky

It is the spectacular light show seen by thousands up and down the East Coast. Those that did not see the spectacle in the heavens with their very own eyes captured what’s believed to be a meteor on video.

“To be honest with you, I sort of received startled as a result of you already know what, I’ve never seen it. I’ve never seen anything like that in my complete 49 years of life,” stated Samuel Rodriguez from Bristol Borough, Pa.

Rodriguez was shocked to see the fireball lighting up the night sky on his Ring Home Security Camera along with his spouse Joy.

“It simply seemed like a giant ball of clear light shooting right out of the sky after which it changes like certain colors, like blue and green and boom it was gone, that quick,” Rodriguez says.

The American Meteor Society says it has obtained over 300 reviews of individuals recognizing the flash in the sky around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Sightings came in from North Carolina to Maine. Our producer, Jenny Heller, even captured the light show on her dash digital camera in Wynnewood. The video was captured in Rhode Island as the large light danced in the sky, and a clip was taken in Massachusetts of the spectacular light show. Rodriquez says his security camera has caught the occasional skunk or fox however nothing this thrilling.
